Crappy Graphs + StumbleUpon = Productivity Crisis
This popular user-submitted graph, submitted by Workie, got me thinking. Since Crappy Graphs launched in June, StumbleUpon has been one of the site’s top referrers. This has always been good news for me.
However, it wasn’t until today that I started thinking about the damage I had done.
Crappy Graphs has received 102,178 visitors from StumbleUpon, with an average session time of 1:33, or 1.55 minutes (hey, high volume => low session time). This means that StumbleUpon visitors have spent a collective 158,375.9 minutes looking at Crappy Graphs. That’s 2,639.6 hours. That’s 110 days straight. If you think about it in work hours, that’s 66 weeks (based on 40-hour work weeks). 66 weeks is equal to 1 year, three and a half months. That is a lot of productivity lost.
I hope I don’t get sued.

Really? Come on Brian put down the toys and work! lol. Actually I never have used the Stumble feature, I use it for other things but I haven’t seen a hit in my productivity because of the toolbar. *shrugs*
Still love the graph tho…

Brian,
I don’t even know why I’m posting a comment after reading the graph, agreeing, laughing at the time wasted…
Then posting this comment! Son of a gun, Maybe my boss should / could block this website from my viewing. (wait, I work for myself)… Bummer!
NOBODY else leave a comment, go back to work people!

I’m going against Adam’s request and posting! - I can’t even USE the internet at work, so you have used up none of my productive time during the day - maybe a little at night when I should be editing or something, but..
Certainly always good for a laugh!

The truth is, your productivity never gets back as high as it once was. You try to fill the gap that was StumbleUpon… until you just install it again. :-p
