I think this graph could probably have more of a heartbeat shape to it, as the “small animals” portion should be at least as high as “people”.
Otherwise, it is an excellent observation. You would feel bad if you saw a puppy fall down a flight of stairs. But a clown? COMEDY GOLD! Then there’s the ventriloquist dummy. Yeah, there’s a line to throw that thing down the stairs.
Mcpaige drew this graph showing the inversely proportional relationship between the number of Twitter updates and the number of IRL dates. This makes sense, though, for a couple of reasons. The first reason is that if you spend more time Twittering, you are spending less time lining up dates. The second reason is a little less straightforward (and I’m proud I picked up on it). If you post more on Twitter, you are likely to reveal more about yourself. Perhaps reveal a little too much. (Sorry Jim! You just happened to be the best example I could think of)
This is a great user-submitted graph. The problems that scare us the most are the ones we know enough to understand the implications, but don’t know enough to solve.
This can be applied anywhere in the service industry, but it uses terms specific to software development. A “code freeze” is a period of time in which no changes can be made to the code, often for Quality Assurance testing. This means it is a deadline in which features need to be implemented, sometimes at the expense of writing messier code in order to make the deadline.
Gotta love seeing stand-up comedians’ jokes expressed in a graphical way!
