Crappy Graphs + StumbleUpon = Productivity Crisis
Tuesday, November 20th, 2007This popular user-submitted graph, submitted by Workie, got me thinking. Since Crappy Graphs launched in June, StumbleUpon has been one of the site’s top referrers. This has always been good news for me.
However, it wasn’t until today that I started thinking about the damage I had done.
Crappy Graphs has received 102,178 visitors from StumbleUpon, with an average session time of 1:33, or 1.55 minutes (hey, high volume => low session time). This means that StumbleUpon visitors have spent a collective 158,375.9 minutes looking at Crappy Graphs. That’s 2,639.6 hours. That’s 110 days straight. If you think about it in work hours, that’s 66 weeks (based on 40-hour work weeks). 66 weeks is equal to 1 year, three and a half months. That is a lot of productivity lost.
I hope I don’t get sued.
Hurry! Somebody Stop Him!
Monday, November 19th, 2007“My graphs aren’t funny,” says Connor. He implies that every graph he submits detracts from the overall quality of the Crappy Graphs site. Well in that case, somebody stop him!!
I’m kidding, of course. About 20% of Connor’s graphs aren’t terrible. Of those 20%, about 50% could be called “good” or “funny”. Not too shabby!
